Alternative Dimensions 2005

-         Going beyond Carnival into a deeper experience of Trinidad Music.

In 2003 a group of artists and myself came together to create the project and event “Alternative Dimensions” as we saw the need to create greater exposer and a space for our music during the carnival season. The groups involved represented all alternative fusion based music (calypso based: jazz, pop, rock, reggae, Rapso and Jamoo etc).

The project is an endeavor to highlight the diversity and depth of Trinidad music, which is not always portrayed during Carnival, but we believe that it should and must be.

Alternative Dimensions 2003 saw 4 sessions February 25^th, March 7^th 8^th and 9^th at the Tamnak Thai Restaurant and Siam Rooftop Terrace, with artists like Brother Resistance, Karega Mandela and the Network Rhythm Band, Moyenne and Soul Quarters, Sheldon Blackman and The Love Circle along with Sean Daniel, Gillian Moore and Broadway boys Intl.

In 2004 we continued the project at The Pelican Inn with Sheldon Blackman and The Love Circle, Gillian Moore, Abbi Blackman, Woldey Dawith and international elements of young artists, like RAW, Mikkel and Mira Mira, from Norway through the exchange program hosted by Roaring Lion Foundation.

In 2005 we wish to continue the success of this event with The Love Circle with Sheldon Blackman at the focus point, supported by established and up and coming artists.

The purposed date and venue for this event is February 11^th at the Princes Building Grounds from 5pm to 9pm. This event would be free to the public, but every one would be asked to make a contribution from their heart.

We seek your support to make this event possible through your contribution which would be in assisting us in the cost of the much needed basics like: sound system, stage, tents, lights, artist honorarium, transportation and the promotion of this event.

We then move to Tobago on February 12^th at Indigo Restaurant and Bar, there will be a cover charge of 40 $TT.
